11:00am: When Hinges Creak: Celebrating 45 Years of The Haunted Mansion

Hosted by Doombuggies.com’s Jeff Baham, this celebration of the Haunted Mansion’s 45th Anniversary (to the day!) will feature a fantastic assortment of images, historical insight, and many more ghoulish delights! Joining Jeff on stage will be Disney Legend Bob Gurr, who developed the ride system for Walt Disney in the ’60s that is used in the Mansion. Bob will share stories of the attraction’s development at WED Enterprises, and discuss the men and women that helped create the most beloved “haunted house” of all time.

11:30am: Graveyards, Mansions, and Ships: LA’s Unique Halloween Event Locations

Find out what it takes to put on uniquely spooky Halloween events at a historical landmarks, from common logistical challenges, to the occasional disturbances from beyond. Moderator Steve Biodrowski (editor, Hollywood Gothtique) and representatives from Pioneer Cemetery, Heritage Square, and the Queen Mary, dicuss what it takes to coordinate ghost hunts in an old, nearly forgotten graveyard, stage reenactments of death ceremonies in a village of Victorian era homes, and coral mazes of monsters on the worlds most notorious haunted ship. Panelists are Guillermo Avilés-Rodríguez (Pioneer Cemetery), Sara Reeves (Heritage Square), and Brian Luallen and JJ Wickham (the Queen Mary).

Plunge into the deepest, darkest roots of Krampus folklore with a cavalcade of rare slides, costumes, and a show and tell from LA’s leading experts on the Alpine legend, Al Guerrero and Al Ridenour of Krampus Los Angeles. After whetting your appetite for the blood of naughty children, Guerrero and Ridenour will fill you in on local Krampus fun and games, and how you can help stem the tide of misbehaving children at this December’s second annual LA Krampusfest.

Locations include LA’s secret tunnels, abandoned prisons, botanicas, and the weird nooks and crannies we pass by on a daily basis.

4:00pm: Knott’s Halloween Haunt presentation

After presenting to a standing-room only crowd in 2013, the Knott’s Scary Farm creative team returns to ScareLA in 2014 to offer more never-before shared insights about the twisted process of turning Knott’s Berry Farm into Scary Farm. Lara Hanneman and her team of designers will share secrets of the park and make an exclusive announcement about what’s new this year. Knott’s promises this panel to be one of the most thrilling and surprising events at all of ScareLA!

Chilling Tales of the Haunted Mansion – LIVE!

1pm & 4:30pm: Witness the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake as Captured Aural Phantasy Theater commemorates the 45th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion with a live show inspired by the infamous attraction’s storied history, including the 1969 storybook and record telling the tale of two teenagers trapped in the moldering manor overnight. Features a live performance, music, spooky effects and weird projections mixed together into a show that captures all of the fun and fright of the theme park’s cursed ghost palace.
