Meet Moticia! She is a Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula and is our newest addition here at Pestmaster Services in Kingston. She may look terrifying but she is as docile as a kitten and as soft as one too! All Tarantulas have the ability to deliver a venomous bite, but Rose Hairs are not interested in biting anything but its prey. This spider uses a defense mechanism of throwing the hairs off of its abdomen with its hide legs like darts which can irritate the skin. The Rose Hair Tarantula is however very vein and would rather not mess up its hair and would only do this in extreme danger! There are no spiders this large in the Hudson Valley so if you see something this large chances are it is someone's pet so don't squish it! Rather call us so we can identify it and remove it for you.
