Ernie Hudson Is About to Have a Very Bad Day (‘Ghostbusters’)

While some of you are still sleeping, ex-Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson spoke to The Telegraph about the forthcoming all-female Ghostbusters reboot. What he said is going to get the internet all worked up, but before people start screaming at Winston Zeddemore, let’s take a look at what was said.
“I heard it was going to be a total reboot, and that it would have nothing to do with the other two movies,” he told the online mag. “If it has nothing to do with the other two movies, and it’s all female, then why are you calling it Ghostbusters?
“I love females,” he qualifies before tripping over himself. “I hope that if they go that way at least they’ll be funny, and if they’re not funny at least hopefully it’ll be sexy. I love the idea of including women, I think that’s great.
“But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don’t think the fans want to see that.
He adds: “Maybe it will come out and be the most amazing thing, but in my opinion I think it would be wrong to do another movie that didn’t include the guys. And that didn’t include me!“
Clearly, what he was trying to say was that an all-female team of ‘Busters was a bad idea because then he wouldn’t be cast. He wasn’t trying to slander women, although saying, “if they’re not funny at least hopefully it’ll be sexy,” was a terrible, terrible idea that’s going to get him in some hot water.
This is going to be a very long weekend for Mr. Hudson…
