Every haunter wants to create a safe experience for their guests. In this class, we will discuss general haunt safety precautions and preparation, fire codes, and city and state codes. Whether a haunted attraction is a home haunt or professional event, each has similar logistics when it comes to protecting both visitors and crew members. We’ll focus on fire protection, placement of emergency exits and lights, general electrical safety, and access code requirements as well during this session. Local civic entities often call on home haunts to enforce fire and city ordinances with rigid standards. Haunters need to be prepared to understand and be compliant with these city guidelines, so that they may enjoy a smooth and successful Halloween season without any unexpected bumps in the night. // Instructors: Preston Meyer and Jason Thompson of Rotten Apple 907.
